Calling all teens, Oct. 16th - 22nd is YOUR week, Teen Read Week. The American Library Association is inviting you to participate in a variety of ways:
- Meet Jay Asher, 2011 Teen Read Week Spokesperson!
- Learn more about Gareth Hinds, the artist who created the artwork for Teen Read Week this year.
- Tune in on Monday to see who won the Teens' Top Ten this year. The winners will be announced at a video presentation at www.ala.org.teenstopten.
- Enter the Teen Read Week photo contest. The contest is open through Oct. 31! Teens 13-18 can create a photo representing their favorite book and win signed books or an e-reader loaded with teen titles, courtesy Penguin Books for Young Readers! The contest will be judged by Jay Asher, 2011 Teen Read Week spokesperson.
- Vote for next year's Teen Read Week theme! Voting will open at www.ala.org/teenread and YALSA's Facebook page starting on Sunday. The options are: Devour a Book @ your library; It Came from the Library!; and It Was a Dark and Stormy Night @ your library. The vote will be online all through TRW. The winning theme will be announced in early November.
- And of course, don't forget to READ!
