SYNC Week #5

Mary Shelly's classic Frankenstein is one of this week's free offerings and the 2012 Odyssey Award Winner Rotters by Daniel Kraus is the other.

These offerings are not for the faint of heart, but great reads!  Enjoy.

Victor Frankenstein learns the secret of producing life, and so,
by putting together parts of various corpses, he creates the Frankenstein monster. The monster is huge and disformed,
but no harm to anyone–until constant ill treatment drives him to murder and revenge.

Grave robbing. What kind of monster would do such a thing? Sixteen-year-old Joey’s life takes a very strange turn when his mother’s tragic death forces him to move in with the father he has never known, a strange, solitary man with unimaginable secrets.

Week #1 of the Summer Reading Program begins on Monday!

Well, it's finally here, summer, and that means that it's time to "Dig Into" some summer fun!

Registration for the summer reading clubs has begun.  If you haven't registered yet, click on the link on the right and sign up.  After you've signed up make sure to come into the library, pick up your reading bag, get a flower to put on the Children's Room wall and register for the weekly prize drawing.

This week's activity days are filled up but the sign-ups for next week's programs will be posted on Monday.  Come on in and register for one or two.

We do have some programs that don't require any pre-registration happening this week.  Monday morning at 10:30 is our first Baby Break of the summer.  Little ones, ages 0-18 months and their caregivers are invited to come in for a program of songs, finger plays & rhymes followed by open play time.

On Wednesday, June 28th at 3:00pm, the Genesee Storytellers will be joining us with a program of folktales just right for the K-2 crowd.

On Thursday at 10:30am our "older" little ones, ages 18-36 months and their caregivers are invited to Toddler Time.

Finally on Friday at 10:00am we'll be showing the first of our TGI Friday Movies.  This week's movie is The Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Hope we see you here!
