December School Break Activites

We have a variety of activities planned for kids during the December School Break.

Monday, Dec. 22nd - 11am - Flamingo Fling
Join us as we celebrate all things flamingo. Come hear some stories and make a craft. Local author and illustrator Sheila Jarkins will join us to talk about and read from her newly published children's picture book "Marco Flamingo". This program is recommended for children ages 3 to 6. Registration is required for this program.

Saturday, Dec. 27th - 2pm - Saturday Stories and Crafts
Join Mrs. Durham for a program of winter stories and then make a related craft. This program is for children in Kindergarten and up. Registration is required.

Monday, Dec. 29th - 10am - Family Movie - WALL-E
After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, the curious and lovable WALL-E discovers a new purpose in life when he meets a sleek search robot named Eve. Join them and a hilarious cast of characters on a fantastic journey across the universe. For all ages. No registration required.

Tuesday, Dec. 30th - 2pm - Tale of Despereaux Party
Join us in celebrating the release of the new movie based on the Newbery Award winning book by author Kate DiCamillo. Test yourself with some Despereaux trivia, play a few games and make some crafts. This program is for kids in grades 2 and up. Registration is required for this program.

3 Apple Award Nominees Announced!


The list of finalists for the 3 Apples Children's Choice Award and Teen Choice Award have been announced by the 3 Apples Book Award committee. Kids and teens have from now until April 2009 to read at least three of the nominated titles in order to be able to vote for their favorite in April.
